“Things We Hide From the Light” by Lucy Score was, in my humble opinion, even better than the first book in the Knockemout series.
It’s not that I didn’t like Naomi and Knox, but there was something special about Nash and Lina that really had me swooning.
Maybe I’m a sucker for the wounded hero vibe? Who knows?
Either way, I devoured this book! (Which, at 592 pages, was no small feat!)
This book starts out where book 1 left off. We’re finally getting to the bottom of why Nash was shot and who did the shooting.
Overall, the mystery and suspense was nicely done and the connection between Nash and Lina was magical.
My only concern with the book was that there was a moment that felt out of character for both Nash and Lina. It felt like it would have been the other way around, based on the types of people they came across as.
But even with that, it wasn’t enough to make me dislike the book in any way.
In conclusion, if you liked book 1 or are just looking for a great romcom series that will bring you into a small town vibe with a found family that tugs at your heartstrings, you’ve found it her in Knockemout. Lucy Score does a fabulous job with the world-building and characterization. I dare you not to fall in love. 😉
