“Kade” by Jenna Myles wasn’t what I expected.
I was told to read this book by one of my friends and I anticipated it to be a typical “billionaire” romance. As it turned out, this is anything but.
More of a romcom than I expected, the love story between Becca and Kade was explosive and at times, hilarious.
Becca’s a headstrong woman trying to find her way in the world. She’s on the move and when her car breaks down, she parks it in the lot of an automobile shop and falls asleep. Only, she’s awoken by a grumpy man who tells her she can’t sleep there. (Obviously, this is Kade.)
Throughout the story, we find out that Kade has a bit of a “helper” complex.
He’s had exes who he’s helped with his time and his money and he doesn’t need another “fixer upper” woman in his life. That’s what Becca seems to be at first. She’s homeless and her car is a mess.
However, she winds up working for Kade and helping him turn his auto shop into a thriving business again. (Not that he needs it because he’s secretly a billionaire.)
The romance between the two is great and the group of guys who work at the shop (aka the Brash Brothers) are quite the crew.
Overall, if you like romcoms and romance with a secret billionaire, you’ll love this one!
I’m looking forward to moving on to book 2.
