“Dead Men Still Snore” by Tammy Tyree was an incredible memoir about love, loss, and the way our love lives on.
Tammy and Michael’s love story reminded me a lot of my own love story with my husband. While she and Michael had a few interactions before they met through an online dating app, the way their love grew was so so very similar to the way my husband and I fell in love over Twitter and Skype.
The memoir goes back and forth between their growing love story and the horrific accident that claimed Michael’s life and nearly took Tammy’s as well.
While Tammy tried to heal from the accident and understand what was going on, she found that her brush with death may have taken her husband, but it also left her with a gift.
Tammy woke up one night to her husband’s heavy snoring, though she was still in a hospital bed in Mexico and her husband was no longer alive.
As the story continues to unfold, Tammy learns that she can channel messages from those on the other side and her husband, Michael, had some messages to share with her.
In conclusion, “Dead Men Still Snore” was a wonderful memoir (not my typical read) and despite myself, I couldn’t put it down. It’s funny in parts, and devastating in others. Tammy does a wonderful job depicting her life and what things were like both before the accident, and after. This is a wonderful read and one I highly recommend.
