“Confess” by Colleen Hoover is one of my favorite books of hers that I have read so far. (Following only the “Hopeless” books.)
This book follows the love of Auburn and Owen.
Auburn is down and out and wishes she could turn her life around. She inadvertently finds herself drawn into the world of enigmatic artist, Owen Gentry and asked to help him that evening for an event. Auburn doesn’t know what’s going on, but ends up helping him run an art show last minute.
The thing I love about this book is the way that Owen creates his “art.” He asks people to drop off their anonymous “confessions” and if he resonates with them, he paints them. The “confession” is often part of the piece.
We find, as the book goes on, that Owen has his own secrets – but not necessarily the ones we’re led to believe. And Auburn needs to decide if their developing relationship is worth the effort.
However, as these two expand and become more to each other, the story takes on a certain “richness” and I couldn’t stop rooting for them to be together in the end.
In conclusion, “Confess” was an amazing book and one that romance lovers and CoHorts alike will enjoy reading. This is one of those books I read on kindle, but plan on getting in paperback so I can enjoy it again – but in paper next time! Get your copy and start reading!
