I guess I was on a paranormal kick this week and you can tell by this next blog post.
“Between” by Jo Buer was a haunting novella about a woman who finds herself in the “Between.”
Rhea is a recently divorced woman who’s supposed to be meeting her best friend for a weekend away at Cambre House.
Unfortunately, her friend is delayed, so she arrives alone.
However, something is amiss at Cambre House and Rhea can’t quite put her finger on it.
Her memories start slipping and she can’t quite figure out why.
The characters in this novella are just as haunting as the tale. However, what really gets me is the precision of which Jo describes the slip of memory and the subtle creepy vibes going on at Cambre house.
There are beautiful gardens, water features, and rooms in the house that make you feel nostalgic for times gone by.
However, the creepy paintings that follow Rhea throughout the house are interesting and leave you with a sense of foreboding.
This short read (it only took about an hour and a half) will surely put you into an otherworldly vibe. If you love paranormal stories, ghost stories, or supernatural suspense, “Between” is certainly for you!
